Danny Trejo criticizes Kim Kardashian for her reaction to the wildfires in Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES - Danny Trejo is calling out Kim Kardashian over recent comments she made about the deadly Los Angeles wildfires.
In a conversation with TMZ, the actor expressed that he believed it was improper for Kardashian to speak out regarding the challenges faced by incarcerated firefighters.
"Right now, as far as inmates getting paid — pros, cons, whatever — it’s like, right now, Kim, worry about the people that lost everything," Trejo said, insisting she should focus on the victims of the fires. "You’ve still got everything!"
Just last week, Kardashian took to Instagram to advocate for higher wages for incarcerated firefighters who have been sent to combat the devastating wildfires.
"The firefighters who are currently imprisoned receive a mere $1 per hour for putting their lives on the line, a rate that has remained unchanged since 1984," she stated. "This compensation has not been adjusted for inflation, nor has it increased even as fires have intensified and resulted in numerous fatalities."
"This year, there was a proposal to increase the wages of incarcerated firefighters to $5 per hour, but it was rejected at the last moment," she went on. "I am appealing to [California Gov. Gavin Newsom] to take action that no Governor has taken in the past 40 years and elevate the pay for incarcerated firefighters to a level that truly respects the sacrifices made by individuals putting their lives on the line to protect our lives and properties."
